# Install and activate IPS Viewer

**Already own IPS Viewer Lite?** It’s now called IPS Viewer. You may still see the old name in the installer or application during the transition. Your existing purchase and license remain valid, so you don’t need to buy it again. Use your existing account download or the application’s update checker.

## Before you start

Check the Windows requirements and the terms supplied with your purchase. Have your purchase details and an internet connection ready for downloading and activation. If someone else manages the computer, check with them before installing.

## Download your copy

Start at viewips.com or your verified account download. Check the source before opening the installer. If the browser or Windows shows an unexpected security warning, leave the protection on and use the download troubleshooting guide.

## Run the installer

Open the official installer, read the screens and license agreement, and choose your options. It normally installs under Program Files, adds a Start menu entry, offers a desktop shortcut, and associates .ips files with IPS Viewer.

If installation fails, note the exact error. If you were given a portable application folder instead, keep the whole folder together; the executable alone isn’t the complete program.

## Activate the application

Open IPS Viewer and enter the license information from your purchase. Canceling activation closes the application.

Activation connects to the licensing service and saves an activation for that computer. Normal startup uses the local activation, without a fresh online check on every launch.

If activation fails, check the message and your connection. Permission errors and activation-limit messages may need different fixes. If you’re replacing or retiring a computer, contact support; copying files or reinstalling isn’t a license-transfer or reset procedure.

Use your purchase terms for device allowances and commercial rights. A test build or version number doesn’t establish a trial, transfer policy, or extra activations.

## Try a practice order

Import a few sample photos, add a product, and review the order. Save the .IPS session, generate a PDF with View PDF, and save a permanent PDF copy. Reopen the session and check the result.

Then set up your studio details, price lists, and client display on the equipment you’ll use for appointments.

## Can’t find your purchase details?

Check your purchase email, spam folder, and IPS Viewer account. If you still need help, send your purchase email address and order number through the support form.

Keep license information out of public screenshots. Never include passwords, full card numbers, or security codes in a support request.
