# Set up a client display

A separate screen lets your client see the photos while you work in the main window. Set it up before the appointment so you can check the picture and sound.

## Connect the display

Connect your monitor, television, or projector and make sure Windows recognizes it. Choose an extended desktop if you want different windows on your screen and the client’s screen.

Check the display arrangement, resolution, and scaling using the equipment you’ll use for appointments.

## Open the client window

Choose **View → 2nd Screen**. IPS Viewer uses the first non-primary display if one is available. Otherwise, it uses the primary display.

Open a photo in the main window. The client window follows the photo or group you’re showing, including framing, detail zoom, and pan, without showing the operator controls.

Move the pointer over the client window to reveal its display control. Use it to switch between borderless and windowed presentation. Escape leaves borderless mode on the client screen.

## Try the steps you’ll use with a client

Compare a few photos, zoom in, and return to Fit. Try a crop, rotation, or color treatment. Open an existing order too: order items keep the appearance recorded when they were ordered, which may differ from the current source photo.

Run a short slideshow and test pause, resume, and stop. Check the audio output and volume. Display connections, Windows scaling, and audio can vary between setups.

## If the window is on the wrong screen

Check which screen Windows marks as primary and confirm that the desktop is extended. Look for the existing client window before opening another one. After connecting or disconnecting a display, check its position again.

## If the screens look different

First make sure both show the same photo and framing. Brightness and color differences can come from the monitors themselves, so compare a familiar image before changing the file.

If the client window isn’t following the main view, save the session and note the steps, IPS Viewer version, and display arrangement. Send support a screenshot with client information removed.
